Woke Up Flawless

September Skincare Reset 🍂

I can’t believe it’s already September! Time truly flies by. Honestly, I’m glad August is behind me. It was such an emotional month. My daughter left for college, and even though I consider myself a very spiritual person who works on acceptance and balance, this transition was both beautiful and heartbreaking. I’m so grateful for her journey, but I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t incredibly hard for me.

Like so many women, I noticed that stress and lack of sleep took a toll on my skin. My complexion looked dull, uneven, and tired, clear signs that emotional health and skin health are deeply connected. It was a wake-up call that even as a skincare professional, I need to re-center and focus on self-care.

How I Reset My Skin After Stress 🌾

To restore my glow, I committed to a nourishing nighttime skincare routine. Within just a few days, my skin looked healthier, brighter, and more refreshed. Here’s what worked:

In-Clinic Reset: I started with a light chemical peel paired with LED therapy. This treatment reduced redness, smoothed rough texture, and revived my skin from that ashy, dull look.

Daily Hydration & Repair: For the next week, I used a different mask each evening. My go-to:

  • I. Pekar Tissue Repair Serum packed with healing botanicals for hydration and recovery.
  • Cream mask: detoxifies, refines pores, and boosts circulation.
  • Sheet mask: restores vitality and recharges stressed skin.

Consistent Retinol Routine: I stayed faithful to my I Pekar Retinol Night Serum, which encourages cell turnover, reduces fine lines, and keeps skin glowing through the seasonal transition.

Why Fall Is the Perfect Time to Reset Your Skincare 🍁

As we shift into fall, our skin often needs extra care. Cooler weather, drier air, and busy schedules can all leave skin looking dull and dehydrated. This makes September the perfect time to commit to a consistent fall skincare routine that combines exfoliation, hydration, and targeted treatments like retinol.

Final Thoughts 🦋

This past month reminded me that self-care isn’t just about beauty, it's about healing, inside and out. Our skin reflects how we care for ourselves, emotionally and physically. By listening to what my skin needed and creating small rituals each evening, I felt more balanced and woke up feeling (and looking) flawless.

If your skin feels stressed or tired, I encourage you to try a reset too. Explore my favorite fall skincare essentials here: ildipekar.com

The Truth About Skincare Trends

Trendy or Totally Useless? Let’s Talk Skincare Some months I sit with a blank page for a while, waiting for what wants to be said. May wasn't one of those months. I've been writing for Yahoo and several beauty platforms about the trends dominating the conversation right now — and after all of that, I […]

Glow Beyond Your Face: Body Edition

Hello gorgeous, Every April I think about the same moment. You open your closet and there it is — the sundress, the swimsuit, the backless something you forgot you owned. And for a split second, before the excitement, there is that other feeling. The one that says: I wish I had done something sooner. I […]

Skin Longevity in NYC

Why Biology Matters More Than Trends At I. Pekar Skin Studio in NYC, I don’t believe in chasing trends. I believe in biology. Skin longevity is not a marketing language. It’s science. It’s understanding how the skin functions, how collagen declines, how elasticity weakens and how we can clinically stimulate regeneration instead of masking the […]
